Welcome to the Amazon Longitude Explorer Prize!

If you work with young people and are interested in applying to the prize there are lots of resources to support you.

Download the Team Champion support pack, designed especially for teachers, group leaders and educators who work with young people. This has everything you need to know about what it will be like to support a team and all the support available to you.

The pack outlines:

  • The aim and objective of the prize
  • Timeline of the Amazon Longitude Explorer Prize
  • Supporting resources and lesson plans available to you
  • How to make an application
  • Judging criteria
  • Key curriculum links to the Amazon Longitude Explorer Prize content

Check out the slides from our information webinars, and get in touch if you’re interested in booking an exclusive 1:1 session with a tech expert to help your with teams ideas – spaces are limited so don’t wait!

Download the free lesson plans below to help your groups come up with a brilliant idea.

Each session (except the introductory presentation), has:

  • A facilitator plan for you to follow,
  • A PowerPoint presentation to show the group,
  • A list of materials needed for the session,
  • A student worksheet option.

The sessions below are in an example schedule but you can pick and choose lesson plans/activities to create your own schedule to meet the needs of your group, and your own timeframes. The student worksheets can also be used as a standalone assignment for groups to work through more independently.

We estimate that the sessions last 30-40 minutes each if delivered as they are, but you can adapt the time spent on activities to make them shorter.
