Update on this year’s programme

Although we will not be running the programme as usual again in September 2021, we are working really hard to bring the programme back in the very near future. We are taking stock of the programme to continue to improve and ensure it is as impactful as possible for young people.

Part of this process is speaking to other organisations and individuals working towards a common goal, so if that sounds like you please get in touch – we would love to hear from you.

We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers and youth group leaders who would consider applying for the programme. We will be running a series of focus groups to ask you some questions about how the programme can best support you and your teams – we’d love to get your input as we tweak the design of the programme.

Drop the team an email via [email protected] to see how you might be able to get involved in the Prize.

Our 2021 winners!

From a two-way AI-enabled British Sign Language (BSL) translator to a self-contained digester box that uses mealworm larvae – the innovation and quality of this year’s winners of the Amazon Longitude Explorer Prize was incredible!

What was the Amazon Longitude Explorer Prize?

As the leaders of tomorrow and the next generation of innovators, we know young people are using their creativity, drive and innovative thinking to tackle the challenges faced by millions across the world, which is why this year we asked 11-16 year olds across the UK to answer the call to action:

How can you use technology to create an app, product or service that will make the world a better place, enabling people to live better, live longer, live greener and live together?
